“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.” Romans 12:1 NKJV
“And God called the dry land Earth, and the gathering together of the waters He called Seas. And God saw that it was good. Then God said, ‘Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth’; and it was so. And the earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.” Genesis 1:10-12 NKJV
Every first Saturday at TTT features free food for teenagers, preteens, and caring adults who provide transportation. The first Saturday each August is watermelon night. Every watermelon is a picture of the plan of salvation. The black seed represents sin; the red heart of the melon represents the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ; the white rind represents righteousness, and the green exterior represents everlasting life.
William Jennings Bryan compared the mystery of God and His creation to a watermelon seed: “I have observed the watermelon seed. It has the power of drawing from the ground and through itself 200,000 times its weight; and when you can tell me how it takes this material and out of it colors an outside surface beyond the imitation of art, and then forms in it a white rind and within that again a side of red heart, thickly inlaid with black seeds, each one of which in turn is capable of dragging through itself 200,000 times its weight— when you can explain to me the mystery of a watermelon, you can ask me to explain the mystery of God.”
According to Romans 12:1, when you “believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, “by the mercies of God,” you have the privilege to present your body a living sacrifice to God – holy and acceptable. It is reasonable for you to now serve the Lord Jesus to magnify God as the Holy Spirit leads, guides, directs, and enables you.
The Bible consistently shares principles of reaping what is sowed, planted, and watered. God then gives the increase.
Jesus predicted His own death, burial, and resurrection when He said: “The hour has come that the Son of Man should be glorified. Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain. He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.” John12:23-25 NKJV
The first Saturday of September is “Burger Bash” at TTT, with mustard available for anyone who chooses. Jesus said: “… if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.” Matthew 17:20 NKJV
“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.” Galatians 6:7-10 NKJV
“But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.” 2 Corinthians 9:6-8 NKJV
Be careful and prayerful about what you sow.
When you turn to the Son of God, Jesus Christ, believing personally on Him; and share your faith in Him with everyone you can, inviting them to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, your faith can multiply. Sometimes our little faith doesn’t look like much, but we never know what it can become. A little faith goes a long way. In fact, a little faith will last for eternity!
Will you be a living sacrifice for God and share and invite every possible person to “believe on the Lord Jesus Christ” today?
