Will you share the light?

“For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” 2 Corinthians 4:6 NKJV

“Then God said, ‘Let there be light’; and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day.” Genesis 1:3-5 NKJV

In the Nelson Study Bible, Earl Radmacher wrote: “‘Let there be light’: These words express a principal theme of the Bible: God bringing light into the darkness. Here, God produced physical light. The New Testament records God sending His Son to be the light of the world. In the end, there will no longer be any darkness at all. God said it, and it was done: there was light. His command caused reality.”

“And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.” 2 Peter 1:19 NKJV

Radmacher writes: ” ‘We have the prophetic word confirmed’ may be rephrased as ‘we have the prophetic word as a surer confirmation.’ As strong as an eyewitness account may be, there is an even stronger confirmation that Jesus is who He said He was. The written Scriptures are even more trustworthy than the personal experience of the apostle Peter. They cast a light that shines like a lamp in a dark place and will continue to do so until the morning star rises. In other words, the truths in the Bible will continue to point to the source of all truth, Christ, until He returns in glory.”

“It Took a Miracle: My Father is omnipotent, and that you can’t deny: a God of might and miracles, ’tis written in the sky. It took a miracle to put the stars in place. It took a miracle to hang the world in space.” It was my privilege to sing that song by John W. Peterson in Illinois, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Maryland. Peterson concludes: “But when He saved my soul, cleansed and made me whole, it took a miracle of love and grace.”

When Grace Memorial Church began in 1940, the theme song became “Wonderful Grace of Jesus” by Haldor Lillenas.

Songs about grace, glory, and stars tell the story of God’s intervention between God and man, the separation of light from darkness.

One of TTT Christian Youth Ministries’ major foundational scriptures is 2 Corinthians 4:3-7 NKJV: “But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them. For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake. For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.”

Because “men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil” (John 3:19), God sent His Son into the world, not to condemn the world, “but that the world through Him might be saved.” John 3:17 NKJV

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of god is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23 NKJV

“That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Romans 10:9-10 NKJV

In your personal relationship with God, have you moved from darkness into His marvelous light?

It has been my personal privilege to be at Winona Lake, Indiana for Youth for Christ activities and watch the sunset. Blanche and Virgil Brock wrote the song “Beyond the Sunset” there: “Beyond the sunset, no clouds will gather, no storms will threaten, no fears annoy; O day of gladness, O day unending, beyond the sunset, eternal joy.”

If you have received God’s light by making the personal decision to “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ,” will you share that light with others beyond every sunset, beyond all your tomorrows?
