The TTT vision continues: Every youth, before turning 20, to hear the Gospel with an invitation to Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.
In his study Bible, Warren W. Wiersbe wrote: “The image here is that of the Roman triumph, their version of our modern ticker tape parade. The victorious general’s sons would walk behind their father’s chariot, sharing in his victory; and that is where believers are today – following in Christ’s triumph. We do not fight for victory; we fight from victory. Neither in Asia nor in Corinth did the situation look like victory to Paul, but he believed God—and God turned defeat into victory.”
Remembering those things God has done, we’re continuing to reach forward “Together Toward Tomorrow,” using multiple means and media, including radio, newspaper editorials, billboards, printed and online resources, public meetings, internet and social media, and one on one sharing, endeavoring to accomplish the ongoing vision.
Henrietta Mears came to Christ as a five-year-old at the First Baptist Church of Minneapolis. At age 12, she taught her first Sunday school class.
In 1928, Mears became Director of Christian Education at First Presbyterian Church in Hollywood, California. By 1933, Sunday school enrollment had increased from 450 to 4,200, and eventually topped 6,500.
Relating her story, Gospel Light reported that “Henrietta Mears was a unique blend of abstract dreamer and down-to-earth doer. God quickly transformed her vision into plans and reality.”
In God’s providence, Bill Bright, a young businessman from Oklahoma, moved to Hollywood and began attending Hollywood Presbyterian Church. When Henrietta Mears shared the Gospel with Bill, he was born again. He arranged for his fiancé Vonette Zachary to meet Miss Mears, who led Vonette to the Lord. Miss Mears opened her home to the Brights, who had a burden to reach college students with the Gospel, to begin Campus Crusade for Christ. During their lifetime of marriage and ministry, Bill and Vonette recruited the largest staff in the evangelical world, sharing the Gospel in colleges and universities across America and worldwide.
In his autobiography “Just as I Am,” Billy Graham shared several stories about the influence Henrietta Mears had on him and his ministry.
Whether you are male or female, God can use you to further the Gospel and influence others to take the Word of God and His plan of salvation to people who need to know Him “whom to know aright is life eternal.”
Since February 5, 1966, the first Saturday night the TTT doors opened, across the years youth from every state and more than 40 nations have been trained in youth evangelism at TTT. They have gone literally around the world with God’s good news.
July 6 – 31, TTT “truth-telling connectors” have taken Fair Share to 8 Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky counties, and have surveyed 327 individual teenagers and preteens, sharing the Gospel personally. Of those, 153 have made the decision to “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ,” with Wabash County Chamber Days in Mt. Carmel, Illinois to be August 12-14.
Results of what God has done during Fair Share are to be presented at the report rally at TTT, 7:27 PM Saturday, August 15, celebrating with free Papa John’s pizza and soft drinks and an American and Christian flag desk set for all who attend in person.
Since March 14, 2020, the COVID phenomenon took its toll. Attendance was limited to 10 people for several weeks, and the TTT team regrouped. We prayed much.
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7 NKJV
But while we were limited in person, online opportunities accelerated. People across America and in nation after nation worldwide began connecting live and later “on demand,” anywhere, anytime.
But meanwhile, Telling The TRUTH radio has continued daily on the VCY America network, now totaling 66 stations, including WPTH in Olney, Illinois. The broadcast is also aired on WSJD in Mt. Carmel, Illinois, and available via podcast.
TTT continues every Saturday at 7:27 PM, with “Burger Bash” September 5 and “Fall Festival Preview” with free corn dogs October 3, followed by participation with the Evansville West Side Nut Club Fall Festival Monday, October 5 through Friday, October 9.
Every investor of time, talents, and/or treasure, praying diligently, can share God’s good news and invite every possible 10-19 year-old to personally “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.”
