“The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.” Romans 13:12 NKJV
Dr. Earl Radmacher comments: “Night is the present age during which we live in Satan’s domain. Day is the beginning of a new life with Christ in His glorious reign. ‘At hand’ means “is imminent”; the Lord could return at any moment.”
“But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers.” 1 Peter 4:7 NKJV
Bill Glass was a defensive end for the Cleveland Browns and Baylor University All-American, who studied at Southwestern Baptist Seminary before entering evangelism full-time.
In his book “Get in the Game,” Bill said: “Our head coach with the Cleveland Browns had a favorite word of advice to his team: ‘Forget the play that went before; it’s too late to worry about that; don’t worry about the next play; because that’s still in the future. Think only of this play that you’re playing now, concentrate on carrying out the details of your assignment one play at a time.”
“… forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:13-14 NKJV
Glass wrote: “To be obsessed means to be so preoccupied with and totally dedicated to a goal that nothing is as important to you as the attaining of that goal.”
In 1969, Bill Glass was invited to conduct an area-wide evangelist campaign at Evansville Roberts Stadium.
Ray Harper (who was with the Evansville Press) and I met with the editor of the Courier and Press, and shared the possibility of a “Youth for Christ march” from TTT to Roberts Stadium on Easter Sunday afternoon, prior to the opening night of the crusade.
Over 1,000 students and adults, carrying Christian flags provided by their local churches, marched the 12 miles from TTT Christian Youth Ministries (US 41 at Boonville New Harmony Road) to Roberts Stadium. Television crews and radio reporters covered the march.
The Monday morning edition of the Evansville Courier displayed a banner photograph at the top of the front page with the caption “Onward Christian Soldiers.”
The cover page carried pictures of the marchers, with articles inside about the Bill Glass Crusade.
In a chapter titled “Scout Your Opponent” in “Get in the Game,” Glass wrote: “In life we face a very worthy opponent and we, therefore, need a good scouting report. We need to know everything that we possibly can about our opponent because he is very real and powerful. The bible says that our opponent is like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. The Bible says that our opponent comes beautifully clothed as an angel of light. He comes deceptively to hit us in our weakest point. If we underestimate the power of our opponent, we’re beaten before we start. For when we think we stand strongest, that is when we are most likely to fall. Too many people have underestimated his power because they have heard a poor scouting report about Satan. He works secretly; in fact, he doesn’t want people to even believe in his existence. He deceives us, tricks us, and tries to destroy us.”
The first Faith Festival was Easter weekend 1970. Good Friday night, 6,000 attended and 500 responded to the invitation to “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ” and to share the Gospel with every possible person.
TTT’s mission continues: Telling The TRUTH to / through teenagers – to win them to Christ and train them for Christ – teaching them how to share their faith through their local churches, on their campuses, throughout their communities, and into their world, wherever God leads them in their future.
God willing, TTT will celebrate 60 years of ongoing ministry with a “Rendezvous” Saturday, February 7, 2026. The vision continues: Every youth, before turning 20, to hear the Gospel with an invitation to Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.
Keep Evangelizing Youth, sharing God’s ABCs of salvation: Admit you’ve sinned. Believe on Christ. Confess Christ publicly.
You can put on the armor of light when you are willing to “be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry” (2 Timothy 4:5 NKJV).
“… Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.” 2 Corinthians 6:2 NKJV
Will you get in the game today? Keep evangelizing youth. Put on the armor of light.
