Jesus: The Dayspring from on high

“I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star.” Revelation 22:16 NKJV

John the Baptist’s mission: “And you, child, will be called the prophet of the Highest; for you will go before the face of the Lord to prepare His ways, to give knowledge of salvation to His people by the remission of their sins, through the tender mercy of our God, with which the Dayspring from on high has visited us. To give light to those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.” Luke 1:76-79 NKJV

Christ is the Morning Star.

Endeavoring to follow Jesus, the Dayspring, I met with a longtime family friend Enloe Wallar whom God had promoted from being a “Trust the Man Who Wears the Star” Texico agent to being co-founder of Men for Missions and founder of the Bank of Mount Carmel.

I had shared with him the series of miracles that God was doing to provide a house and 2 1/3 acres to establish the TTT Christian communication center. Enloe was among the first to contribute, and we were endeavoring to put together our not-for-profit corporate board of directors. I asked Enloe if he would prayerfully consider being on the board, sharing that I was having a difficult time getting people beyond the prayer stage. Two had promised to pray about it, but hadn’t decided to commit to serve. Both Hugh Barger and David Ingle, Jr. said “yes” to Enloe Wallar’s offer to be the third person on the new executive board.

“Two are better than one … Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” Ecclesiastes 4:9, 12 NKJV

The ministry continued meeting every Saturday night, and God opened door after door for us to have youth evangelism outreaches within the 100-mile radius of TTT in Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky.

Later, we learned that David Ingle, Jr.’s great great grandfather, John Ingle, had built the Ingle cabin over 100 years earlier (near the intersection of the road between Boonville and New Harmony and the Red Banks trail from Henderson to Vincennes), and opened his home to circuit riders traveling in evangelism.

Within a few years, we added more board members and formed a building committee, working with Jack Kinkel as architect. Hugh Barger served as treasurer, and David Ingle, Jr. as chairman.

At the groundbreaking ceremony for the anticipated new facility in 1975, R.R. Schwambach, pastor of Bethel Temple and a member of the TTT executive board, presented the dedicatory prayer. David Ingle dug the first shovel of dirt, then handed me the shovel.

Beginning in the living room with two teenagers February 5, 1966, TTT is known for having an event every Saturday (now also online), moving toward TTT’s 60th birthday “Rendezvous” Saturday, February 7, 2026.

Between Saturdays, TTT Christian Youth Ministries keeps on the go with the Gospel. Through the years, evangelistic youth efforts at high school auditoriums, gyms, civic auditoriums, and local church facilities have been attended by hundreds, with many responding to the invitation to “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.”

Each summer, Fair Share teams travel to county fairs and street festivals, sharing the Gospel with fairgoers across the Tri-state.

The first $20 contribution from each donor to TTT annually provides a Leading Youth Scholarship for evangelism training for students (ages 10-19) and adult youth workers, in honor of former TTT board chairman Lowell G. Holder.

Evangelism training is offered the second Saturday each month.

“Together” editorial articles and blog are published each weekend, online and in newspapers reaching nine local communities.

Telling The TRUTH radio broadcast is reaching listeners in 24 states daily, and online via podcast.

Roadside missionaries “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ” billboards along US 41 and other busy thoroughfares are viewed by thousands of motorists daily.

TTT sponsors Motorcycle Sunday School Missions in Brazil, Cambodia, and Indonesia.

“Hosanna Highway” – God’s plan of redemption throughout His Word – is to begin February 14, the Saturday following the 60th birthday Rendevous, going through April 18.

TTT’s 2026 theme is “Renewing” – “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” Romans 12:2 NKJV

If you have been involved with TTT anytime during our first 60 years, you are invited to share your story.

Follow Jesus’ calling today – the Dayspring from on high – and invite everyone to “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.”
