Have you received God’s gift of new life?

“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit.” Titus 3:5 NKJV

“For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12 NKJV

God hit me in the heart in February 1940, when blind evangelistic singer Bob Findley spelled out John 3:16 on his braille-like apparatus and quoted to me: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

Later that evening, following a message by Paul Levin and music by Bob Findley, I responded to the invitation and received God’s gift of new life, through the renewing of the Holy Spirit, and was born again.

Seven years earlier, just 12 miles from my hometown of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, Ford Porter, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Princeton, Indiana wanted to make sure everyone in Princeton could know how to become a believer in Jesus Christ. He wrote a scripture-saturated tract – “God’s Simple Plan of Salvation” – before he left Princeton to take another pastorate. Knowing there were 1,800 homes in Princeton, he had 2,000 copies printed and mailed one to each of the 1,800 homes. He enclosed the remaining 200 in correspondence to others, and soon requests were received, so he had more printed, and more, and more.

October 1947, God used Romans 12:1-2, which became my heart’s desire:

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”

Burdened for a long-time friend who was drifting into sinful situations, God gave me a strategy to reach out to Pete. God used His Word, and soon Pete surrendered his life to Christ.

The summer of 1948, following Pete’s graduation from Mt. Carmel High School and my junior year, we distributed copies of “God’s Simple Plan of Salvation” at the Wabash County Fair, recruiting our friend Don Brown, who sat by me in the trombone section of the band, to help. Don stood with us as people left the grandstand but refused to hand out the tracts.

Walking home from the fairgrounds, Pete and I urged Don to “sell out to Christ,” and later that evening he prayed with us: “God, Pete and George have been pounding on me all night, so here I am. Take all of me. I give myself to you.”

That was the forerunner of what is now known as “Fair Share.” Since TTT’s first summer in 1966, we have had a presence communicating the Gospel at county fairs. In 1970, Dave Schwambach organized an outreach at the Richland County, Illinois Fair.

Fair Share possibilities for 2026 include Gibson County, Indiana, July 6-10; and during July and August Dubois, Warrick, Posey, Knox, and Pike, Indiana; Lawrence, Edwards, Richland, Wabash, and White, Illinois; and McLean and Daviess, Kentucky … as God opens doors and Fair Share teams are trained in evangelism and willing to serve.

Jesus said, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” Matthew 9:37-38 NKJV

Leading Youth peer evangelism training is available for students and adults, challenging and equipping to creatively communicate Christianity so that many more youth can be reached with the life-changing Gospel message. Scheduled the second Saturday of each month at TTT, the first for 2026 is to be February 14, as Hosanna Highway begins.

One week earlier, the February 7 “Rendezvous” will celebrate God’s faithfulness for 60 years and counting.

God’s ABCs of salvation are shared during Fair Share and consistently by TTT team members, radio listeners, and other caring Christians.

A – Admit you’ve sinned. B – Believe ion Christ. C – Confess Christ publicly.

TTT’s continuing vision: Every youth, before turning 20, to hear the Gospel with an invitation to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Our key verse for 2026: “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” Romans 12:2 NKJV
