Celebrate! Jesus Christ the Lord

“For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” Luke 2:11 NKJV

Destiny.

“Now the Lord said to Samuel, ‘… Fill your horn with oil, and go; I am sending you to Jesse the Bethlehemite. For I have provided Myself a king among his sons.'” 1 Samuel 16:1 NKJV

“And Samuel said to Jesse, ‘Are all the young men here?’ Then he said, ‘There remains yet the youngest, and there he is, keeping the sheep.’ And Samuel said to Jesse, ‘Send and bring him. For we will not sit down till he comes here.’ So he sent and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, with bright eyes, and good-looking. And the Lord said, ‘Arise, anoint him; for this is the one!’ Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers; and the Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward….” 1 Samuel 16:11-13 NKJV

“Look, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, who is skillful in playing, a mighty man of valor, a man of war, prudent in speech, and a handsome person; and the Lord is with him.” 1 Samuel 16:18 NKJV

Young shepherd David approached the Philistine giant Goliath, saying: “I come to you in the name of the Lord” (1 Samuel 17:45).

Destiny.

The Wright brothers, preacher’s sons from Dayton, Ohio, took their invention to Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. On December 17, 1903, they flew an airplane for the first time.

Three years later, December 24, 1906, Reginald Fessenden made the first audio radio broadcast to a general audience, broadcasting from Brant Rock, Massachusetts; people aboard ships along the Atlantic Coast, glued to their telegraph receivers, heard Fessenden’s voice and music.

Following that three-year time span when aviation and radio broadcasting were made available, the world would never ever be the same. God used those two breakthroughs to make it possible to share the gospel of Jesus Christ effectively worldwide!

Destiny.

The series of events and the answers to prayer after prayer that led us specifically to the corner of US Highway 41 North and Boonville New Harmony Road to establish the TTT Christian Communication Center are explained Biblically: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV

As we were endeavoring to begin the ministry, I made an appointment to meet with Mr. and Mrs. David Ingle, Jr, whom I had met in 1961 when I was invited to speak at a Tri-State Youth for Christ rally in their home. The Ingles were the first to give. God opened door after door to share the Gospel as we prepared to have our first event for teenagers in the new facility the first Saturday night of February, 1966.

“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.” Psalm 32:8 NKJV

Much later, our daughter Tami, now president of TTT Christian Youth Ministries, a graduate of Liberty University, a CPA and attorney, did some research on the property. She learned that in 1818, John Ingle, the son of a Baptist pastor from England, came to America, settling in southern Indiana. Building a log cabin, he provided lodging and hospitality for itinerant preachers. The road alongside the “Ingle Cabin” went East to Boonville and West to New Harmony, and the north-south “Red Banks Trail” extended from what is now Henderson, Kentucky to Vincennes, Indiana.

Circuit riders taking the Gospel from south to north, and from east to west, were welcomed through John Ingle’s hospitality for meals and overnight lodging.

The 160-acre land grant John Ingle obtained in 1823 encompassed the 30-acre property God would provide for TTT nearly 150 years later.

God is omnipotent. He is unlimited by time and distance; He spans calendars and geography.

Destiny.

Francis Scott Key was one of the founders of the American Sunday School Union in 1824, and wrote the “Missionary Sunday School” plan to start Sunday schools across the country. Individuals could hear the Gospel and learn to read and write, using the Bible as their primary text.

The “Mississippi Valley Enterprise” goal of establishing Sunday schools in every town west of the Allegheny Mountains to the Rockies – in two years, took 50 years to complete.

When you personally believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and are willing to go with the Gospel wherever He leads you, you can “discover your destiny.”

Let’s tell everyone this Christmas time, and every day: Jesus is the Savior, Christ the Lord!
