“Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” Ephesians 6:13 NKJV
The belt of truth is first: “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 6:32 NKJV
Everything rises or falls on truth. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6 NKJV
Next: “…put on the breast plate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” Ephesians 6:14-17 NKJV
2 Corinthians 5:21 gives us the insight that Jesus, who knew no sin, is our breastplate of righteousness.
The shoes of the gospel of peace are very important. A popular song said, “These boots are made for walking.” Brian Fuller wrote a contemporary song titled “Good-Lookin’ Feet” – “Beautiful are the feet of them that bring the Good News. Good lookin’ feet, that’s what I want.”
In “The Battle for Your Soul,” David Jeremiah wrote, “It is important that we see the relationship between the shoes and the rest of the armor of God. Remember that Jesus Himself is the armor that protects our souls, so each specific piece of equipment relates directly to Him.”
The shield of faith. “For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.” 1 John 5:4 NKJV
“But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation.” 1 Thessalonians 5:8 NKJV
David Jeremiah wrote: “Satan’s purpose is to try to corrupt or confuse our mind through false teaching, temptation, and the systems of the world. His goal is to strangle us in practices and habits and addictions that make it impossible for us to think clearly, especially when it comes to God and His purpose.”
“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.” 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 NKJV
The sword of the Spirit: “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12 NKJV
“Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You.” Psalm 119:11 NKJV
Prayer changes things and people!
“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NKJV
From Ephesians 6:18 forward, Paul made praying and the need for prayer very personal: “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication…”
Every day at 3:33 PM, my daughter Tami and I endeavor to pray together Jeremiah 33:3 NKJV: “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.”
We are continuing to go “Together Toward Tomorrow,” to know and do God’s will. We are praying for “Truth-telling connectors” to catch the vision: Every youth, before turning 20, to hear the Gospel with an invitation to “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.”
We pray for Telling The TRUTH radio ministry, heard twice daily on the VCY America network, offering God’s ABCs of salvation to be distributed by listeners in 25 states.
Every Saturday at 7:27 PM (Central Time), youth and adults gather at the TTT Christian communication center in person, and others connect online (livestream or on-demand video).
November 14 (3 PM through TTT Saturday night), evangelism training is being provided for students ages 10-19 and adult youth workers, with free Leading Youth scholarships available.
November 7, the theme is “South of the Border,” with free nachos for all who attend in person. We’ll be saluting the Motorcycle Sunday School Mission ministries in Brazil, Cambodia, and Indonesia.
December 5 is Family Night, celebrating Jesus’ birthday with specially decorated cakes visually presenting the Gospel. The thrust: “Go tell it on the mountain, over the hills and everywhere: Jesus Christ is born … and Jesus Christ is alive!”
Are you using the whole armor of God?
