“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly …” Romans 12:1-3 NKJV
When my wife Mary and I were dating and got serious with each other, knowing that God wanted us to serve Him together, we chose Romans 8:28 as our life verse: “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”
My major purpose in life is to communicate Christianity.
Wayne Cordeiro wrote: “Vision is the ability to see what others may not. It is the capacity to see potential – what things could be. Vision is the ability to see what God sees and the God-given motivation to bring what you see to pass. Vision is what stirs up faith! You can’t have one without the other. Faith will birth vision, and a vision will fuel your faith.”
Cordeiro continues: “Faith is required to see the unseen, and by seeing what God has in store for your future, you begin to have vision. This means seeing not only with your eyes but also with your heart. When you can conceive a clear picture of what God’s blueprint is for your life, you have vision! The clearer the picture, the more likely others are to catch the same vision. When everyone catches the vision, it becomes more than a vision; it becomes a reality.”
The TTT vision: Every youth, before turning 20, to hear the Gospel with an invitation to “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.”
God gave me a biblical formula for sharing His plan of salvation:
A – Admit you’ve sinned. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23 NKJV. “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23 NKJV
B – Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 NKJV
C – Confess Christ publicly. “That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Romans 10:9-10 NKJV
The Bible says: “God has dealt to each one a measure of faith. For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them …” Romans 12:3-6 NKJV
Paul Rader, founder of the Chicago Gospel Tabernacle, launched Tabernacle Publishing Company. Rader challenged Victor Cory to leave his position as an electrical engineer and start serving the Lord full time as publisher of Tabernacle Hymns. Cory enlisted staff member Lance Latham to select songs that would be included.
One of the first songs from Tabernacle Hymns that I learned as an alert young Christian attending my home church was “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.” – “‘What must I do,’ the trembling jailer cried, when dazed by fear and wonder. ‘Believe on Christ’ was all that Paul replied, ‘and you will be saved from sin.'”
Between July 6 and August 14, TTT teams are going to county fairs and street festivals with “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ” banners and giving bottles of cold water. Every bottle has the “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ” message, and we share God’s ABCs one-on-one.
TTT teams trained in evangelism are scheduled to go with the Gospel to fairs and festivals in the following counties, God willing: Gibson County, Indiana (Princeton); McLean County, Kentucky (Calhoun); Lawrence County, Illinois (near Sumner); Warrick County, Indiana (Boonville); Richland County, Illinois (Olney); White County, Illinois (Carmi); Knox County, Indiana (Bicknell); Edwards County, Illinois (Albion); and Wabash County, Illinois (Mt Carmel).
As believers work together and share God’s Good News, He gives the increase.
